DINA MARKOVA

Dina Markova graduated in directing for drama theater in 2016 in the class of Prof. Snezhina Tankovska at the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts NATFA "Krastyo Sarafov". At the Academy, she worked on Gozzi's “The Stag King”, Ionesco's “The Shepherd's Chameleon” and “The Bald Soprano”, Camus's “Caligula”, Bulgakov's “The Master and Margarita”, Yuri Dachev's “A Save Place to Cry”, “Uncle Vania” by Chekhov, "Don Juan" by Moliere and author's projects.

In 2017 together with Boyan Arsov founded the "ZONG" Association, which is a natural continuation of their joint work at the Academy and this marks the beginning of the ZONG Theater. The beginning of 2018 together with Boyan, they invite a group of actors and start the rehearsals of "Life is a dream" by Calderon - a dystopian horror tale, which is the first project of the newly founded ZONG Theater. Since then she has been a director, actor and author, as well as project manager for ZONG THEATRE. “Life is a Dream” brought her an UCARUS 2019 AWARD for directorial debut – an award of the Union of Bulgarian Actors.

Dina is the author and director of "Funeral 2017" - an author's site-specific performance at the "Nikolai Binev" Youth Theater, part of the "Youth Fair" festival. She is the author of the stage version and director of "Life is a Dream" based on Calderon and "Othello - The Downfall of an Idealist" based on Shakespeare, Brecht, Müller, Cummings and Sun Tzu - performances of the ZONG Theater, which she created together with Boyan Arsov. She is the author of the play "Outsider", a performance noir and plays the role of the Psychologist - this is the latest premiere of the troupe directed by Boyan Arsov.
